Hello, I’m a Doctoral Student at the Human-Environment Research Group (HER) at La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull.

I am exploring speech processing techniques for identification of vocal biomarkers from health applications. Specifically, I am studying the changes induced by stress situations in the voice production system, describing them using the source-filter model. I aim at understanding how the human vocal apparatus is affected by stress and characterise the variations to through Glottal Source and Vocal Tract Filter features.

Leveraging this knowledge, I will train explainable AI models essential towards achieving a system that helps users and practitioners monitor daily life stress from speech. In addition, this non-invasive approach may become instrumental to prevent long term exposure to stress and the early detection of related health events.

My Path

Doctorate

Researching identification of vocal biomarkers for mental health applications through speech processing techniques and Deep Learning, aiming for explainable and interpretable models.

Master’s Degree and Research Sound and Music Computing

During my time at the MTG I collaborated in the development and evaluation of music of algorithms, inlcuded in the open-source library Essentia, for audio quality control and artifacts detection, publishing the results in the 146th AES Convention in Dublin in 2019. I also worked on the development, evaluation and publication of essentia.js the open-source software JavaScript library for music and audio analysis on the web, in 2021.

Music Technology Group 2018 - 2022

Lead R&D and Software Engineer

I started working as a full-stack web developer and software engineer building my way up to a new role in the company according to my interests and education, working on Research and Development for audio and music projects.
